Ana C. Andreazza, Pharm, PhD
Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology
Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry
Independent Scientist, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health

Dr. Andreazza received a PhD in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, RS, Brazil. Currently, Dr. Andreazza is Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology and Psychiatry, University of Toronto and holds a cross-appointment as Independent Scientist, at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, University of Toronto. Currently, Dr. Andreazza is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Pharmacology and Toxicology and Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and an Independent Scientist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto.

Dr. Scola began his training as a physiology student, studying the effects of natural compounds for the development of specific drugs for the treatment of neurologic and metabolic disorders. At the Institute of Biotechnology - University of Caxias do Sul, Brazil, he went on to complete a Master’s Degree involved the study of natural compounds to develop new drugs for the treatment of neurologic conditions. He entered the PhD program in Biotechnology in 2009, and as part of his thesis, he investigated the effects of a class of natural compounds to modulate oxidative stress in neuropsychiatric and cancer.
