Title: Is the evidence within evidence-based medicine valid?
Date and Location: Monday, November 29th, 12:15 pm Classroom 4

Dr. Cornelis (Cees) Baas, MD, FFHom (hon)

Dr. Cees Baas is an MD from the Netherlands who has over over twenty years experience in full time homeopathic practice. His studies in clinical epidemiology resulted in many research and teaching activities. The relevance of scientific research for the improvement of results in daily practice is at the center of his work. He published several Medline indexed articles about clinical case research and is an acclaimed international teacher of homeopathic materia medica.

Evidence based medicine sounds like an obvious triumph for common sense. Closer observation however reveals that the gold standard for medical evidence was not chosen in order to promote healing: it was chosen to reduce harm. How on earth did that same gold standard come to be applied to natural healing methods that are many orders of magnitude safer than conventional medicine? Learn about evidence that is no evidence, placebos that are no placebos and how to find our way out of this bizarre situation.
