Course Description

The lecture will explore the use of high dose sulfur treatment (HDST) to alleviate gas, abdominal pain and bloating in IMO/IFO and IBS dysbiosis. This natural option for GI disorders will be presented, providing case studies, biological mechanisms of sulfur as an antimicrobial, anti-fungal, structural, and protective mineral, along with treatment protocols.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the limitations of SIBO testing, limitations of antibiotic treatment to normalize symptoms, re-testing and recurrence rate.
  2. Recognize the structural and protective properties of sulfur
  3. Review the antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties of sulfur
  4. Learn to break the cycle and sulfur deficiency
  5. Understand compensatory upregulation of H2S SIBO as an upstream problem in IMO
  6. Compare fermentation diets versus inflammatory diets
